Book This TourShimla is the capital of Himachal Pradesh and is a very charming hill resort. It was the favourite summer resort of the British when their troops set up camp here in 1819. At an altitude of 2,130 mtrs, the town is a beautiful place with Shimlathe Mall and Ridge being main attractions. There are also good walking options in Shimla. You can, for example, start your walk from Scandal Point and Ridge, and a 2 kms walk takes you to the Jakhoo Hill which offers an excellent panoramic view of Shimla and the Hanuman Temple.


Sightseeing at Shimla -
Jakhu Hill : 2 kms. from Shimla, at a height of 8000 ft, Jakhu Hill is the highest peak and offers a beautiful view of the town and of the snow-covered Himalayas. At the top of the Hill, is an old temple of Hanuman, which is also the home of countless playful monkeys waiting to be fed by all visitors.

Shimla State Museum : shimla ChurchThe Museum, which was opened in 1974, has tried to project hill-out and the cultural wealth of the state. There is a collection of miniature Pahari paintings, sculptures, bronzes wood-carvings and also costumes, textiles and jewellery of the region.

Kufri : 16 kms. from Shimla at a height of 8,600 ft. Kufri is the winter sports capital. During winter, visitors have the facility for skiing. The skiing season is at its best during January and February. Equipment for sking is available from HPTDC winter sports club at Kufri. Apart from skiing, Kufri is a lovely picnic spot with a beautiful view of the hills around and the snowy peaks. There is also a zoo that delights children.

Bhargaon : It is about 4 km from Shimla. Approached either past the cemetery below St. Edward's School, or through Tutikandi, this village ha splendid examples of traditional Himachal architecture.

Reaching Shimla - Kufri Shimla
By Air : Indian Airlines, Archan and Jagsons have their regular flights from Chandigarh, Delhi, Dharamshala and Kullu. You will be arriving at "Jubber Bhatti" which is recently constructed airport which is at a distance of 28 Km from the town area.
By Rail : Shimla is well connected by road with Kalka (100 kms), Chandigarh (120 kms) and Delhi (385 kms).
